Introduction
Jules Jürgensen is one of the oldest names in Swiss watchmaking, with a history that dates back to 1740. It was originally founded in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Danish-born Jürgen Jürgensen, who later passed the business on to his sons. Jules Jürgensen became known for high-quality craftsmanship. The company specialized in quality precision pocket watches. Today, the Jules Jürgensen brand remains a collector’s name for vintage and antique pocket and wrist watches.
Servicing the Jules Jürgensen Wrist Watch
This gold cased watch uses an off the shelf calander A. Schild calibre 1749 bio-directional automatic movement that has been “personalized” with the Jules Jürgensen name and an upgraded gold colored plating. The balance jewels are shock resistant, and the date advance is instantaneous at midnight. It is a very good grade movement and after service keeps time within 10 sec/day or better in between positions.
