This vintage Rolex 6563 came in for a full service and restoration, powered by the Rolex Caliber 1030 movement—a well engineered automatic movement produced during the 1950s. Upon disassembly, it became clear that the movement was in remarkably good and original condition, suggesting it had either never been serviced before or had only been serviced with a high level of care. There were no signs of improper handling, and the parts showed minimal wear, which is rare for a movement of this age.
The complete vintage Rolex repair included full disassembly of the Cal. 1030, ultrasonic cleaning of all components, careful inspection, lubrication with high-grade synthetic oils, and regulation. The case of the Rolex 6563 was cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner but not polished, preserving the sharp lines and contours. A new crystal and gaskets were installed. The watch was then reassembled and tested for performance, now running smoothly and reliably—ready for many more years of service.
The Rolex 6563 is a mid-century automatic dress watch, powered by the Caliber 1030, Rolex’s first bio-directional rotor automatic movement developed entirely in-house. Produced during the 1950s, this model is a fine example of Rolex craftsmanship, featuring elegant styling and mechanical durability. Today, especially in this condition, it remains a prized piece for collectors interested in early automatic Rolex models.
