Vintage Omega Watch Repair
Complete service of an Omega 351. This movement is almost identical to the 354, with the exception of the micrometer regulator. This Omega 351 “Bumper” Automatic received (almost identical to the Omega 354) a full mechanical service to restore its performance and reliability. The movement was completely disassembled, with each component thoroughly cleaned and inspected for wear. Despite its age, the movement was found to be in good condition and was reassembled using modern synthetic lubricants to ensure smooth operation. The unique bumper winding mechanism was adjusted for proper function, and the watch was regulated across positions for accurate timekeeping. After reassembly and testing, the watch ran strongly, preserving the charm and mechanical ingenuity of this early Omega automatic.

Omega Bumper Automatic History
The Omega 351 “Bumper” Automatic is part of Omega’s early line of self-winding watches produced in the late 1940s to early 1950s. Featuring the distinctive bumper system, the Caliber 351 used a semi-circular weight that “bumped” off internal springs as it moved, winding the mainspring with each motion. This early automatic design was innovative, laying the groundwork for Omega’s future automatic calibers. Often housed in elegant stainless steel or gold-filled cases with clean, understated dials, the 351 is a hallmark of post-war Swiss watchmaking.
