SERVICE & REPAIR: Hamilton 992 B Railway Special

If you are looking for a robust, accurate, excellent quality 16s pocket watch, then the Hamilton 992 B would be on the top of the list. It is engineered to last, and was designed for easy repair and service. Not many movements look this good after 75 years (and most that I service do look this good). With around 50 hours of reserve, a friction fit balance staff (most balance staffs are riveted) and a solid balance with an “Elinvar Extra” temperature compensating hairspring it’s hard to beat its time keeping capability. A new balance staff and full service brings this watch back to keeping time within 3 seconds/day.
