Servicing the W S Norton & Co 18s Pocket Watch

This antique pocket watch arrived for complete service and mechanical restoration. Although information on the manufacturer is scarce—aside from a brief reference in the March 1893 issue of the Jewelers’ Circular and Horological Review (see below) regarding the dissolution of a similarly named company. The movement is not one I commonly encounter, and it features an unusually engineered slide-lever setting mechanism. After a full cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment, the high-quality 15-jewel movement is now running reliably and performing well.
